Every engineering and consulting firm needs an effective plan to recognize new leadership, transfer ownership and to permit the founders to transition their ownership in the firm and convert their investment in the firm to cash.
This program, based on the presenter’s popular book “Architect’s Essentials of Ownership Transition” published by John Wiley & Sons for the AIA’s practice series, will explore essential issues, including how to: establish value, design an ownership transition program and choose appropriate transfer mechanisms, and identify leaders.

Bill Mandel is a partner in the San Francisco office of Fox Rothschild LLP, a national law firm with 750 attorneys in 22 offices. Bill represents architecture, engineering, environmental design and other professional services firms in California and nationwide. Bill is Co-Chair of the firm’s Succession Planning Group, and is considered by his clients as a go-to source for strategic counsel regarding transition planning, including mergers and acquisitions. For more than 25 years, he has helped develop ownership transition programs for some of the leading professional service firms and speaks extensively on the topic. Bill co-authored “Architects Essentials of Ownership Transition” published by John Wiley and Sons. Bill is also a licensed CPA.
