JOIN US FOR THE 75TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION OF SEAOC AT THE BEAUTIFUL MONTEREY PENINSULA!

aquarium fishThis year, SEAOC will be celebrating our 75th Anniversary in Monterey at the 2004 Convention from Wednesday afternoon, August 25th through Saturday morning, August 28th. Convention activities will be held at the beautiful Portola Plaza Hotel (formerly the DoubleTree Hotel) and the Monterey Convention Center. Our comprehensive technical program will include innovative engineering, practical design, and business development. Our social program promises to keep convention attendees entertained with, among other events, a wonderful strolling dinner at the Monterey Bay Aquarium and exciting regional tours at Cannery Row, 17 Mile Drive, Carmel by the Sea, and a tour of three wineries in Monterey County. Come and learn about Robert Louis Stevenson's and John Steinbeck's Monterey Peninsula.

Bring Your Family
We especially encourage convention attendees to bring their family. With all the attractions available in the Monterey area, your companion and children will have plenty to do. Activities include biking, swimming, golf, tennis, the beach, shopping, touring the Monterey Bay Aquarium, and whale watching trips in the immediate area. Fisherman's Wharf is just outside the hotel and Cannery Row is one mile south. Just to the south, 17 Mile Drive and Carmel by the Sea are nearby.

Special Packages
We are continuing to extend a special invitation to younger engineers (35 and under) by offering a 20% discount on convention packages and social events. A special reception will be held for our younger members on Thursday at Peter B's Brew Pub. In addition, we are offering a 15% discount on convention packages and social events to SEAOC Fellows and Past Presidents.

Convention Registration
Registration forms for the Convention were mailed out with the registration packet. However, please feel free to register here online. In order to avoid a late fee, please register on or before July 31, 2004. Please bookmark this page and return often to view the latest information about the Convention, hotel, and Monterey area.

Hotel Registration
We have arranged a special SEAOC group rate of $165/night for the Convention for reservations made by July 24, 2004. Please call the Portola Plaza Hotel for reservations at (888) 222-5851 or at (831) 649-4511 and mention SEAOC as your group when you register. Hotel space at the group rate is limited and may not be available if you wait.

We look forward to seeing you and your family at the Convention!

Sincerely,

James O. MalleyJon P. Kiland
