Business Forum: Strategies for Successful Negotiations

In this SEAONC Business Forum session, Donnelly Gillen will address strategies for preparing for negotiations and tactics participants can utilize during their negotiations.  The presentation will include interactive exercises that participants can use on others in informal settings to help improve their negotiation skills and comfort level in initiating negotiations.  Donnelly will discuss various aspects of construction projects that involve negotiations and provide insight on how participants can better negotiate for themselves during their careers.  Participants will also leave with recommended reading. 


Donnelly Gillen

Donnelly is an experienced commercial litigator with a primary emphasis on construction industry disputes. She has represented owners, businesses, and public agencies in actions involving contract and construction disputes, fraud claims, leases, and personal injury claims. In the construction realm, Donnelly has represented a wide range of players, including owners, developers, builders, subcontractors, and product manufacturers. She is an effective advisor of individuals and businesses in contract drafting and negotiations, including on IPD projects.  Donnelly is an active member of the American Bar Association's Forum on Construction Law and is a Board Member for the San Francisco Chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction.
