Following a positive response from our interest survey, CEC has partnered with Simpson Strong-Tie to offer SEAONC members an exclusive tour of their Stockton manufacturing and accredited lab & testing facility. Arrive at 11 AM for a free lunch offered by SImpson. The main event will begin afterwards with a short technical presentation covering what goes behind obtaining product certifications and published product capacities. This will be followed by a fun hands-on exercise for building and testing a test setup to understand the nuances of product testing.
We’ll have a guided tour of the Tye Gilb Research Lab which is the hub of Simpson’s research and development activities by one of the Simpson R&D testing Engineers to see it all in action. The lab's highly specialized equipment includes a seismic shake table and large scale cyclic/static rigs capable of laterally loading five-story structures, spoiler alert, we will see a product being tested. We’ll end the day with a tour of the manufacturing faculty so that you can see what goes into making a product.
