Golden Gate Bridge - Bridge Engineering, Design, and Maintenance

Reinhard Ludke, S.E. will present the 1920’s and 1930’s Golden Gate Bridge design and engineering evolution including the contributions of Architects John Eberson and Irving Morrow and Bridge Structure Engineers Leon Moisieff, Professor Charles Ellis, and the bridge promoter, Joseph Strauss.  

Jorge Lee will describe his 18 years of work, first as Bridge Inspector and as a Senior Facilities Engineer, a title he holds currently. Jorge will talk about the challenges of Tower Inspections, development of Bridge Tower Inspection Handbook, Maintenance Issues, and the planned 2019 construction of the Bridge Suicide Prevention Structure and the future Toll Collection System – this structure will be located South of the existing Toll Plaza.  

Special Presentation: The Public Outreach Committee will be presenting the Volunteer of the Year Award at our Monthly Meeting!
