Understanding San Francisco’s Millennium Tower Investigation and Retrofit
Presented by Ron Hamburger

San Francisco’s Millennium Tower was designed to be the city’s premier residential address. Although the original geotechnical report predicted 4 to 6 in. of total settlement, the building had settled more than 14 in., leading to litigation and mediation with homeowners. In this presentation, Mr. Hamburger will share an overview of the conditions resulting in the large settlement and tilting, the structural and geotechnical analyses performed, and the selected retrofit slated to start construction in November 2020.
