Younger Members Forum

The Younger Members Forum provides an avenue for younger engineers to become more actively involved with SEAONC. YMF's goals are to:

  • Provide opportunities for our members to meet and network with each other as well as with other young professionals in the construction industry,
  • Encourage professional licensure by hosting information sessions and distributing information packets about the PE exam, and
  • Serve as a liaison between Bay Area universities and SEAONC by hosting student events throughout the year.

YMF hosts monthly happy hours, quarterly socials, as well as technical presentations and/or site tours about every other month. We also host several larger events, such as the annual ski trip, sailing trip, and an outing to a Giants baseball game. Several of our yearly events are held in conjunction with BAYA (Bay Area Young Architects), the local chapter of ASCE YMF (American Society of Civil Engineers), as well as CMA (Construction Millenials of America). These are all great opportunities to connect with other young professionals in structural engineering and related disciplines.

To find out more about our upcoming events, visit the YMF Committee page(must be signed in to view this page) or sign up to receive our newsletter. We try to be considerate of your inbox by only sending emails twice a month, so sign up today!
